The objective of the "moulothèque virtuelle" is the conservation of cultural heritage. It also has didactic, creation and dissemination objectives.

Basketry on mould

Basketry moulds are traditionally wooden shapes that serve as a template, a guide to obtain and reproduce a precise shape. The particularity of some is to be removable to be able to easily take them out of the object once the braiding is finished.

Moulds library

The traditional wooden moulds were modeled and then printed in 3D. You can thus access their plans and printing files in the mould library.

Designers' projects

The students of the design option at ENSAD Nancy have designed their own moulds in order to create new objects. These projects demonstrate the potential of digital technologies for mould basketry. The purpose of the "moulothèque virtuelle" website is to encourage collaboration between the designers and basket makers of the CDPV, to welcome all projects.

If you have a project, do not hesitate to contact the CDPV!
